![]() ![]() Pref_file_path="$preferences_dir_path/$1. sudo apt update If one is available, use the upgrade option: sudo apt upgrade Note this will update all packages (recommended), for example, to upgrade the Chrome package. Preferences_dir_path="/opt/google/chrome/extensions" To update Google Chrome, run the APT update command in your terminal. Save this script to the install-chrome.sh file: #!/bin/bash The script will also install chrome if it is not installed, remove the middle part if that's not needed. Here is the script, you gonna need extension ids, they can be found in the address bar when you go to the details of the extension on the market or at chrome://extensions. jrg I decided to give it a try and what I found is that indeed Chrome packaging scripts add a new file under /etc/apt/.The result of this is that Chrome installation didn't fail, but apt-get update now prints a 'duplicate sources.list entry' warning so, yes, this method shouldn't be used unless you want to fix the sources files later. ![]()
